Hi, I’m Nelson
UI/UX & Visual Designer based in Japan.

I create clear and practical digital experiences for web and mobile. My background in illustration and motion helps me design interfaces that feel both functional and expressive. I focus on simplifying information, reducing friction, and supporting users across different cultures and languages.

Path and Principles

Path and Principles

I currently work in Japan as an ALT while collaborating with the Kobe City CIR team as a graphic and layout designer. I help improve how international teachers access important city resources, which has shaped my approach to multilingual UX, information architecture, and designing for real community needs.

Before this, I worked with USJETAA, local schools, and community groups on interface design, branding systems, and web content. These experiences shaped a design approach built around clarity, structure, and intentional decisions that help people trust, understand, and use what I create with confidence.

Outside of Design

Outside of Design

I sketch, explore Japan, study languages, and experiment with motion and interactions.

Living abroad influences how I observe people, understand context, and design with empathy.

These experiences help me bring cultural awareness into everything I create.
